A Problem-Based Learning (PBL) web platform for collaborative coding practice, featuring an in-browser C++ runner and a gamified XP/level system.

Classroom programming education is often lecture-heavy and lacks real-world problem-solving (PBL) and teamwork. Teachers frequently struggle with setting up C++ compilers on each lab workstation, organizing group roles, and manually reviewing student code submissions.
As the Solo Full-Stack Developer, I architected and built the entire platform: • Backend & Database: Built the Laravel backend and designed 15+ PostgreSQL tables on Supabase (users, classrooms, missions, groups, progress tracking, submissions, grading, attendance, and voting). • C++ Sandbox Runner: Created a server-side C++17 execution service using g++ with timeout guards (10s compile, 5s runtime) for safe in-browser execution. • 5-Phase PBL Workflow: Built step-by-step Problem-Based Learning flows (initial reflection, role allocation, interactive coding, peer project showcase voting, and final reflection). • Auth & Multi-Role: Configured Laravel Fortify for 3 distinct roles (Admin, Teacher, Student) with session security and 2FA. • Gamification: Implemented automated XP leveling (100 XP per level) and peer voting. • Frontend: Built responsive dashboards using React 19, Inertia.js, and Tailwind CSS. • Deployment: Deployed to Vercel connected to Supabase PostgreSQL.
• Successfully deployed to production on Vercel and Supabase, supporting 33 concurrent student sessions and 5+ collaborative project groups. • Allowed students to compile and execute C++17 code directly in their browser without manual toolchain setups. • Centralized classroom management for teachers: handled group assignments, 5-phase mission tracking, attendance, and grading in one place.
